Heading back to the Mainland after a July trip to one of the outlying islands, I noticed this tower at the airport.
Got a groovy retro sci-fi vibe going on – appears to have been built around 55 years ago.
Reminds me of that ’50s ‘Space Art’ genre – as they imagined what their utopian future might look like…
As such, it’s more than just a tower; it’s an artistic statement embodying the hopes and dreams of a past generation.
Thank you unknown architect. Your dreams live on.
Original sky with a bit of extra whiz and yep, that moon was there. That pipe or whatever it is running down the right hand side makes it look a bit like the background has been (poorly) replaced.
But hey, if I was going to fake the moon it would look more like the next image…
