I wasn’t expecting great things, but I’m surprised at how well this panorama came out. It was taken using the panorama function on the standard camera app on my LG G2 Mini. The phone is relatively new and although I think I’ve used this a couple of times previously, don’t recall any noteworthy results.
Presumably conditions (subject distance and lighting) were optimal. What’s most impressive is the stitching – the app steers you along, but this was not taken with particular care. When I think of the painstaking process of stitching I’ve had to use with various programs over the years, this is clever tech.
The shot was taken last weekend on the Nelson to Rabbit Island stretch of the ‘Tasman’s Great Taste Trail’, a really nice ride.
